Job Description
The QA Specialist is responsible for activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. These activities include but are not limited to: data collection, analysis of data, preparation of reports, conducting investigations, providing support to the Safety Committee, assisting with revisions to quality assurance efforts, providing data and reports that portray accomplishment of levels of service and other performance indicators.
Essential Job Functions
The QA Specialist is required to analyze Unusual Incident Reports (UIR), Critical Information Reports (CIR), maintenance tracking system, site safety inspections, fire & evacuation drills, IHP goals, community activities in programs, licensing reports, accreditation preparation, and an annual consumer satisfaction survey. The QA Specialist also assists in orientation, training new staff to be consistent with the agency's mission and values. The QA Specialist will cooperate with the agency and the Department of Human Services regarding all investigations and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Helps monitor and analyze quality assurance systems
- Familiar with N.J.A.C 10:44A licensing standards (The Division of Developmental Disabilities)
- Prepares and monitors plans of correction in repose to internal and external audits
- Investigates allegations of abuse, neglect and exploitation of our IDD population and prepares written reports for state submission (strong written skills)
- Provides training relevant to the QA department to staff and in orientation applicable to the department
- Analyze data collected in the programs to identify trends and implement corrective measures
- This position is not stationary so candidates need to be made aware of daily travel between homes
- Strong ability in using Microsoft package as well as computer skills
- This position is not stationary, Valid driver’s license and personal automobile is necessary Preferred:
- Experience working with the IDD population preferred
- Working in a Day Program
